DSV faces a strategic choice: keep CargoWise or switch to Tango after the Schenker integration

The integration of DB Schenker acts as an accelerator of decisions at DSV, and one of the most sensitive issues now plays out on the systems side: which freight forwarding platform should become the backbone of the group? Behind this question, a duel is emerging between Tango (historically on the Schenker side) and CargoWise (a solution widely established in the industry, notably thru WiseTech).

During exchanges with the market, DSV recognized the current coexistence of multiple environments and the need to converge. Objective: reduce complexity, standardize processes, and build a unified operational model that covers operations, data, customs compliance, and automation. The group suggests that, in the long run, industrial logic is pushing toward a single solution, and that the orientation could favor Tango.

Beyond the name of the tool, the challenge is clear: to unify operations on a global scale, accelerate automation, and strengthen data governance. DSV also indicates that it has closed a very significant number of applications in its IT landscape, a sign of massive rationalization. For the ecosystem, this choice will not be neutral: it is a decision that can reshape the balances of freight tech, both in terms of costs and innovation capacity
