Hong Kong Air Cargo opens a new series of charter flights to East Midlands Airport

The air bridge between Asia and the UK’s heartland continues to thicken. Hong Kong Air Cargo has launched a series of charter flights to East Midlands Airport (EMA), becoming the seventh all-cargo carrier to open operations at the hub since May.

EMA confirms its role as an e-commerce and express hub for the British and European markets. The new charters from Hong Kong must support the flow of electronic products, fashion, and high-value goods, in a context of seasonal peaks and increasingly tight delivery deadlines.
For the airport, the arrival of Hong Kong Air Cargo adds to a core of carriers already active in the area (integrators and specialized cargo companies), consolidating a model oriented toward 24/7 distribution and quick connection to British road networks. On the carrier side, this presence in central England offers an alternative to the large traditional hubs, which are often saturated, while bringing additional capacity closer to e-commerce warehouses.
Local logistics players see this new charter program as an opportunity to capture more volumes from South China and Northeast Asia, and to offer their clients end-to-end solutions combining air, cross-dock, and last-mile distribution across the entire United Kingdom.
