Global air freight starts 2026 on a stronger dynamic than expected
The first indicators of 2026 confirm a more robust recovery than expected in global air freight. After a year-end marked by some caution, transported volumes are on the rise again on several major routes, particularly in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and North America.
This dynamic is explained by a combination of factors: restocking, sustained demand for high-value goods, and better management of cargo capacities by airlines. Major hubs are recording improved occupancy rates, while fares are stabilizing after the adjustments at the end of 2025.
Analysts believe that this trend could continue in the first quarter, provided that the disruptions observed in other modes of transportation continue to strengthen the role of air travel as an alternative solution.
